We'd pulled over, trying to listen to the alarm calls of Sambar Deer – you know, they do that when a leopard's likely around. But then, instead of a leopard, I saw this little Bushchat. Just perched on a tiny branch, all alone against this huge, pale sky.
Honestly, I think I took pictures of every Bushchat I saw on that trip until I got this one. I really wanted to get that perfect shot. The way its subtle, earthy tones stood out against the vast, pale sky was just so striking. And it was just sitting there, looking out, all calm and strong.
